Forse il castello, il centro storico, possono sensibilizzarti, ma non soffermarti troppo in essi, rappresentano soltanto il periodo meno fastoso della sua storia millenaria.
Pensa, soprattutto che, sotto quelle modeste abitazioni moderne, e più oltre, dove vegetano fiorenti frutteti, vigneti ed oliveti, ogni sasso, ogni frammento, potrebbe raccontarti storie di uomini vissuti duemila, tremila e perfino quattromila anni or sono.
Questo è quanto noi non potremo mai conoscere!
Eppure, solo lì è l'essenza di quella civiltà che si è andata esprimendo concretamente in quelle opere che noi oggi ammiriamo.
Questo, io ho voluto dirti, perchè durante il percorso della nostra modesta ricognizione, in te non rimanga l'amarezza di una curiosità in parte insoddisfatta.
Del resto, non dimenticarlo: il mistero è il fascino di questa città!

Just imagine that before that unpretentious houses and flourishing orchards, vineyards and olive groves, every stone and every fragment could tell you adventures about men of two thousand, three thousand and even four thousand years ago.
Unfortunately we won’t know all of that, which represents the essence of the civilization that really expressed itself by contributing to the works we are admiring nowadays.
We wanted to make this explanation about our tour in order not to leave a bad taste in your mouth with your partially unsatisfied curiosity.
Besides, don’t forget that mystery is the fascination of this town!
